Jorrit Tamminga (°1973) composes music for a variety of instruments and ensembles, in combination with electronics. He also creates musical theatre productions, often in combination with film and live electronics.

As an improvising musician he regularly performs with a range of other musicians, playing live electronics. He programmes electronics for composers, musical theatre productions, orchestras and ensembles.

Tamminga works with fellow musicians including Erik Bosgraaf (recorder) and Izhar Elias (guitar). Together with Katinka Polderman he created the musical theatre show Over de beiaardier die in een klok veranderde (About the carillonneur who turned into a bell). His collaboration with filmmakers Paul and Menno de Nooijer resulted in a number of theatrical productions and film projects.

He has provided the electronics for a variety of musical productions by Music Theatre Transparant, Orkater and Artery, as well as creating the electronic sounds for several works by composer Wim Henderickx.

Tamminga teaches sound design as part of the Music and Technology course at the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht, as well as teaching composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
