Jonas Beerts (°1997) studied Fine Arts (photography) at the KASK in Ghent. With a background in video and photography, as a self-proclaimed bricoleur he turns images into pliable places: spatial installations, videos and the combination of both. These stem from an interest in hybrid worlds where the digital and physical come together. Concepts such as vulnerability, manufacturability and radical imagination emerge as central themes.
Together with Sarah Lauwers he also forms Sarah & Jonas. As an artist duo, they explore the possibilities of video performances. Jonas showed work with his individual practice and as part of Sarah & Jonas in venues including: De Studio, STUK, BredaPhoto and The Wrong Biennale.
