Jolien Van De Sande (1994) obtained her Master’s degree in Music magna cum laude at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp in 2017. She also set up ‘Het Fluisterhuis’ (House of Whispers), a music collective that makes music and dance theatre for children and adolescents. In 2018, as the Art Educator in Residence at deSingel, she created the production When the Gods Slept, in which she shared the stage with her fellow performers from Het Fluisterhuis and nine novice actors with a visual impairment. Jolien is currently active as a conductor, teacher, theatre-maker and musician in various classical and non-classical ensembles and orchestras.
