Eclectic and mixed-race artist, insatiable researcher of movement and sound, teacher, performer and/or choreographer, singer and musician, improviser... Fatou Traoré has been active on the Belgian scene since 1989. In 1999, she founded the association 1x2x3 and Studio Grez and begins her career as a choreographer. Live music is at the heart of his work. Since then, around twenty pieces have been created featuring this confrontation between dance and live music (Aka Moon, Kris Defoort & Dreamtime, Manu Hermia, Erwin Van, Modibo Kouyaté, Mamoutou Dembélé, the women's choir of Patshiva cie, Margaret Hermants ... Without dissolving into genres, it is in the process of a permanent encounter of the body with other disciplines such as music, circus, theater, visual arts or cinema, that Fatou Traoré has constructed his writing The search for the unknown, for the potential represented by human differences and the diversity of genres, fuels the chaos necessary for his creative fertility... His latest creation is an essentially musical project Falana, where it all begins (2024) with Dorian Baste, Vincent Noiret, Sylvain Debaisieux and Elie Rabinovitch.
